Pitzer College 艺术画廊 Fellows

The Fellows of Pitzer College 艺术画廊 present an exciting opportunity for students who are passionate about diversity, 股本, and 包容 in the contemporary 艺术 world. Fellows work under the supervision and mentorship of the Galleries’ staff to implement student-centered co-curricular programming that engages the larger student body and reflects the Galleries’ mission and philosophy of addressing significant contemporary and historical issues of 股本, 包容, and diversity through 艺术.

This student employment position creates opportunities for Fellows to assist Galleries staff in creating programming in p艺术nership with key campus stakeholders, including the CEC, 教师-in-Residence, and the Office of 校友 and Family Relations.

Selection of Fellows for the Fall semester takes place in Spring, when the Galleries open Fellows applications.

佩奇·贝尔德,26岁 is a prospective Studio Art Major with a passion for Gender and Feminist Studies. She is interested in exploring how the curatorial process can illuminate intersectional identities. As a summer intern at Franklin Parrasch Gallery in New York, Paige gained valuable experience working closely with 艺术ists and developing an understanding of gallery operations. Raised in Los Angeles, she attended high school in Connecticut and is excited to dive deeper into the work of the Pitzer College 艺术画廊.

 

 

Hannah Hekendorn ’25 is a Critical Global Studies major and an Art History minor from Dallas, Texas. Conscious of the colonial roots of museums and the Western 艺术 world, Hannah is interested in reimagining 艺术 spaces and curatorial practices to make 艺术 more engaging and exciting rather than exclusive and private. She has extensive experience working with kids and is interested in pursuing a career in decolonial 艺术 education. She is passionate about cultivating connections between different communities and the 艺术 world and strongly believes 艺术, if used correctly, can become an important tool for self-expression as well as social justice.

Ari Ohara, 25岁 was born and raised in Mexico City and is a Fall 2023-Spring 2024 Fellow and a double-major in Art History and Environmental Analysis. In addition to being a Gallery Fellow, Arianne is a research assistant for the Cultural Property Dispute Resource at the Claremont Graduate University, a consultant for the Claremont Sustainability Consulting Group, and a student senator on the Pitzer Campus Aesthetics Committee. Arianne was a 2022 Getty Marrow Registrations and Permanent Collections Management Intern at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures in Los Angeles. Her interests lie in 艺术 curation, museum and gallery work, environmental activism, 可持续性, and intersections of the 艺术s and science. She aspires to work in museum management and curatorial affairs and lead creative projects that prioritize culture, 艺术, environmental wellbeing, and positive change.
